Updated and rebranded for 2021, the Yamaha Tracer 700 becomes the Yamaha Tracer 7. Engine updates mean the Tracer 7 is now Euro 5 compliant. The torque rich engine, light weight, and superb rideability remain. Making the Tracer 700 an excellent choice for a middle weight all-rounder.
Here is our Tracer 7 review and an overview of the main features.
Tracer 7 Review: The Pros
The first benefit of owning a 2021 Yamaha Tracer 7 is its price. The retail price for the Tracer 7 is just £8202 on-the-road (price correct as of May 2021). There has been a slight increase in price from last year’s model; but, when you consider the Tracer 7’s performance, handling and comfort, it is still very good value. The Tracer 700 may not have all the electronic features of more expensive models. But, how it handles on the road makes it well worth the price!
Another improvement Yamaha has made to its 2021 Tracer 7 model is in its overall design. The bodywork is much more streamlined yet it can still offer the same level of wind protection. Additional performance is also achieved by switching headlights to LED projectors, while the riding position and handlebars have also been adjusted for easier handling. Finally the design and finish for this bike is impressive, especially for a bike in this price range. All backed up by Yamaha’s famed reliability and a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
The Tracer 7’s engine is one of the first by Yamaha to comply with Euro 5 emission regulations. In order to do this, they have redesigned many of the Tracer 7’s features including the valve gear, fuelling, gearbox and more. This more economical model of the Tracer 7 has not sacrificed the power and torque of previous models, and retains the distinctive character of the CP2 engine. The Tracer 7 handles beautifully even up and down mountain roads, while the suspension has been upgraded to allow for harder braking when needed. Finally, the riding position and seat thickness have been improved to ensure a much more comfortable ride over any distance.
The Technology
The dynamic 2021 Tracer 7 is the latest model providing outstanding performance as well as being very lightweight. The 2021 Tracer 7 has an EU5 compliant CP2 engine with cross plane technology which provides great acceleration through gears. With adjustable front and rear suspension and comfortable seating positions, the Tracer 7 is designed to not only accelerate in performance, but also provide excellent levels of comfort.
